Thinking for a Change
by John C. Maxwell

Thinking for a Change is packed with great ideas for succeeding in business and life. This is one of my favorite Maxwell books even though it falls out of his normal leadership content. In this book, John explains what it means to be a good thinker and also highlights the eleven skills every successful person needs including Big Picture Thinking, Creative Thinking, Strategic Thinking, Possibility Thinking, Unselfish Thinking and several more. I reread this each year and always notice new insights and better approaches to my business and life.

The Power of Full Engagement
by Jim Loehr & Tony Schwartz

The Power of Full Engagement
definitely makes the 1% Top Ten List! Ambition without peak energy is useless. This book by Jim Loehr and Tony Schwartz uses an athletic metaphor to illustrate how easy it is to mismanage our energy reserves, but also, how this can be corrected. This has been required member reading since its release in 2003. You will find case studies that are easy to relate to and simple, straightforward action steps to address the real energy crisis. This book is loaded with great content and has excellent chapter summaries and a complete recap at the end of the book. Here is one key point that you should study further: “Most of us are under trained physically and spiritually (not enough stress) and over trained mentally and emotionally (not enough recovery).” Grab the highlighter!

The Breakthrough Principle of 16x
by Richard Koch

16 X is the essence of the 80/20 Principle. Author Richard Koch wrote this short booklet following his other three books on the subject. It is simply outstanding material crammed into 43 pages. Koch’s other 80/20 books include: The 80/20 Principle, The 80/20 Individual, and Living The 80/20 Way. The 80/20 Principle was used for 7 years as The 1% Club’s textbook (in addition to Success Is Not An Accident). The 80/20 Individual was a poor sequel that I could barely make it through. Living The 80/20 Way became my favorite because it focused more on the personal applications of the Pareto Principle. Then came 16X where the author uses the 80/20 principle in producing the book. Make sure everyone you work with or do business with has read this one!
