His passion for developing the whole person is clearly evident throughout his live workshops, key-note presentations, books and audio courses. Tommy’s annual Couples Planning Retreat takes world-class planning tools into the family realm, allowing husbands and wives to design a more balanced, simplified, and enriching life together.
He is the author of several books including Success Is Not an Accident, the New York Times bestseller, The 4:8 Principle and most recently, The War on Success. Tommy and his wife have three children and live in Atlanta, Georgia.
Randy Leeder
Randy has been in the 1% Club for over 10 years and has been personally coached and mentored by Tommy Newberry over the same period. He and his wife, Susan, have attended the Couples Planning Retreat eight times since its inception.
Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Randy relocated to Florida in 1976 when his father purchased The Winter Haven Herald, a weekly newspaper. This was a big change since he was about to enter his senior year of high school and had to adjust to a new culture, school and country. During his senior year, he worked at the family business and took a year off after graduating to help his dad with the business before heading to university. This was invaluable experience as he was exposed to the intricacies of running a small business. Randy’s primary responsibility at the newspaper was its circulation manager – all this at the age of 18.
After attending Florida State University and completing a degree in accounting, Randy returned to Toronto in order to be closer to my mother who had cancer and to determine if he wanted to settle there. During this time, he worked in public accounting with Ernst and Whinney. After a year, he decided that he wanted to return to the states and selected Atlanta for its business and weather climate. Here he met his wife Susan, with whom they have now been married for twenty years and have two sons, Evan (16) and Grant (13). They enjoy living a balanced life raising the boys and enjoying the moment. Randy enjoys the outdoors: fly fishing, gardening, hiking and is an avid runner.
After a successful career as the CFO for Beers Construction Company (Beers/Skanska), Randy decided to find a business that he could invest in and be part of something that was more entrepreneurial in nature. In March of 2003, he joined In Zone Brands as their CFO and also became a shareholder of the company. After three years he departed In Zone to team up with one of his co-1% Club members to help run his $25 million real estate investment firm, Euram Investment Group. At Euram, Randy has focused on improving financial performance measurements and has diversified the fund’s holdings.
I also currently enjoy helping several small privately owned companies working with them on strategy, business planning and establishing financial and operational control.
